The measurement and reporting of student learning impacts every aspect of the educational system; from funding for remediation and credit recovery to college and career readiness. The Riverside County Office of Education’s College and Career Readiness Unit and the Riverside County Education Collaborative continue to explore the purpose and accuracy of grading practices in our county.

Over the past two years, RCEC has provided over 500 educators from across the state professional development through the annual Grading Practice Project Forum held each Fall. Additionally, over 2000 teachers have participated in the Grading Practice Project Survey. The survey provides schools and districts valuable insight into the current state of teacher grading practices by measuring both their understanding and implementation of standards-based grading practices..
